Liquid Waste Disposal

Filter-Cut

The original Aussie-made vertical column waste pump. True cutting action, built-in agitation, and a track record going back to 1964.

Overview

The Filter-Cut is where DUMAC began. It’s a vertical column waste pump with a genuine cutting action — hardened steel tips on the impeller work against a perforated steel plate to chop through solids before they even get into the pipe. There’s also an agitator blade underneath that keeps the liquid moving so nothing settles.

We make two versions. The “A” model has a fully self-contained oil lubricated seal chamber — it’s the newer design and the most popular. The “W” model uses a water lubricated lower bearing, which is the original design that’s been running in the field for over 40 years. Both do the job well; it just depends on your preference.

What Sets It Apart

💧Genuine Cutting Action

Hardened steel tips and a perforated plate create a guillotine effect with just .020″ clearance.

🛡Replaceable Cutting Tips

When the tips wear down, you swap them out. No need to replace the whole impeller.

🔧Built-in Agitator

A hardened steel blade below the suction side keeps liquids circulating so solids don’t settle.

Two Seal Options

“A” Model with oil lubricated seals, or “W” Model with water lubricated bearings.

How Pit Depth Works

Column length is measured from the bottom of the pump casing to the high water level mark just below the top bearing. That’s the deepest the liquid should sit. Measure your pit from bottom to where you want the max level, and pick the closest size. If you’re between two, go longer.

Reading the Model Numbers

Filter-Cut models follow a simple pattern: [Length Prefix][Outlet Size]

Length: SA = Short (2’6″), BA = Basic (3′), MA = Medium (4′), LA = Long (5′), XLA = Extra Long (6′), JA = 8′, KA = 10′, QA = 12′, HA = Horizontal

Outlet: 40 = 1.5″ (40mm) BSP, 50 = 2″ (50mm) BSP

So an MA50 is a Medium length (4′ / 1.22m) with a 2″ outlet.
